1. I’m constantly developing workflows to use VR as a complementary tool of design, and possibly to replace some of the current tools. VR offers a physical work nature that is more organic and ergonomic, and the list goes on.

Virtual Reality - A Tool Of Design

Previz In VR

Creating pre-visualization in Virtual Reality can be done swiftly, effectively, while looking gorgeous. Rendering is in real time speed and modifications are easy and fun

Sun Sonification: Using the sound recording of the sun by NASA I created this scene in Tilt Brush and made the brushes react to the sound which created an enjoyable and somewhat intimidating atmosphere.

The ship was created by my student Willow, which I imported and created this environment for to previz a potential scene based on it.

CAUTION - Music may be loud:

The scene was created by me and my student Sarah. I added the music and activated the brushes’ reaction to sound, and this was the result. I’ll be using the same technique for making my first film in VR.

Concepting in VR

More software and tools are becoming available in Virtual Reality, and the development of these applications are improving to meet the increased expectations of 3D artists who are thirsty for a ergonomic replacement of the traditional desk and chair.

I am slowly easing into finding and developing a VR workflow that could, in a robust fashion, become the magical concepting and ideation toolbox. Below are some of the experiments I’ve made

How About Concepting

in just 10 Seconds?

It’s fun, and highly effective for brainstorming!
